Concerning documentation, I am now trying to rush with the coding, then I will write a detailed manual for the identification toolbox. Concerning texinfo, it looks nice but no experience: where are texinfo files in dynare repository so I can learn a bit from them? Is there an easy way to compile' texinfo sources to preview my editing?
The ideal way of documenting stuff in Dynare is now the following:
- the list of commands and options with their description should go in the reference manual;
- the details of the methodology and of the algorithms should go in a working paper in our new Dynare working papers series.
Of course each of the document can refer to the other, but we should try to stick as much as possible to this separation.
Concerning Texinfo, I have written a wiki page: http://www.dynare.org/DynareWiki/ReferenceManual
Under Windows, it is easy to compile the manual using the "texinfo" package of Cygwin.
Best,
OK, thanks for the help best Marco
